Two ways to use us
The first is the usual one. We’re the bricklaying package inside somebody else’s build. Your builder rings us, or you do, and we come and lay the brick and block to the drawings for a measured price or a day rate.
The second is that we take the whole job. We’ve carpenters, general builders, electricians and plumbers we work with regularly, and on the right job one of us will run it from the footings through to the snagging with those trades. That’s a different job for us than laying brick, so we take them on one at a time.
What it costs
As the brickwork package, this work is usually priced from the drawings. Either a measured price for the package, or our day rate if you would rather keep it simple: £600 for the two of us a day, or £300 for one of us. Materials at cost plus 10 per cent.
As the whole job, the price is worked out the way any builder prices an extension. The trades and materials, our time running it, and a sum set aside for the things that always turn up on a build. We’ll show you that breakdown rather than hide it inside one number.
